punk is being who you want to be, without caring what anyone thinks of you. thats what it is. with or without a blatant disregard for authority.

this guy has no right to be tellin people whats punk and what isnt. its ignorant. if i wanna wear a friggin spongebob armband, the hell "mc lars" is gonna stop me.

no one should be able to tell someone else what they should be. if you want to be punk, dont go reading internet tutorials on hair or style or attitude. OR listening to music that tells you how lame you are if you do anything that doesnt fall withing their stereotypical view of what is "punk rock".
